Congressional candidate Sean Bielat has been endorsed by the National Vietnam and Gulf War Veterans Coalition in his 4th District race against Joseph Kennedy I.
"It is an honor to be endorsed by fellow veterans," Bielat, a Marine Reserve officer, said.
"The National Vietnam and Gulf War Veterans Coalition understands that we must be vigilant in protecting our country from threats of terrorism, and they also see the critical need to send a business mindset back to Washington to get our economy growing again. Veterans - like all Americans - need jobs," he said.
Bielat is the Republican candidate in the race to succeed U.S. Rep. Barney Frank , D-Newton. Kennedy is the Democrat.
Rosa bows out of 4th race
Independent David Rosa of Dighton said Thursday he is definitely out of the race for the 4th Congressional District race.
Rosa is still on the ballot as an independent candidate because his withdrawal from the race came too late to remove his name from the ballot.
However, he had previously suspended his campaign and Thursday clarified that the race is over for him.
He said he was a Department of Defense employee and federal Hatch Act restrictions prevent him from running.
The remaining candidates for the seat being vacated by U.S. Rep. Barney Frank , D-Newton, are Republican Sean Bielat and Democrat Joseph Kennedy I.
